For many years, cardiovascular diseases have ranked first in the Polish national mortality statistics. At the same time, there is a catastrophic shortage of specialists capable of performing timely surgical correction of cardiac pathologies. This situation creates a real opportunity for physicians from Ukraine, Belarus, and other post-Soviet countries to obtain employment as cardiac surgeons in Poland.
The number of available vacancies makes it possible to find a position with a good salary and decent working conditions in almost any part of the country. Our company’s specialists know how to achieve this and are ready to assist everyone interested in finding employment.
What is included in a cardiac surgeon’s job description?
The task of cardiac surgery is to eliminate disorders in heart function or alleviate the course of disease through surgical intervention. Modern cardiac surgeons not only perform open-heart operations but also use advanced access techniques via veins and arteries.
The scope of responsibilities of a specialist who has obtained a position as a cardiac surgeon in Poland can be outlined as follows:
examining, diagnosing, and consulting patients;
determining the advisability of surgical intervention;
developing an operative protocol;
performing surgical procedures directly — bypass surgery, stenting, valve implantation, pacemaker implantation, correction of cardiac muscle defects, and others, up to and including heart transplantation;
prescribing postoperative drug therapy and rehabilitation measures;
monitoring patients during the postoperative period.
Cardiac surgeons typically work in general public and private hospitals, as well as in specialized cardiac centers.

How can one obtain a position as a cardiac surgeon in a Polish medical institution?
Naturally, this requires finding a suitable vacancy. However, in order to apply for it, the candidate must have:
a medical university diploma and a certificate in the relevant specialization;
at least 3 years of experience working as a cardiac surgeon within the last 5 years;
a level of Polish language proficiency sufficient to perform professional duties;
authorization to work as a physician issued by the Ministry of Health.
In addition, it is important that a candidate for a cardiac surgeon position in Poland be familiar with advanced high-tech surgical methods and approaches and possess the relevant professional qualities. These include emotional stability, decisiveness, endurance, excellent physical condition, flawless vision, and good fine motor skills, as well as the ability to work in a team, non-confrontational behavior, and responsibility.
Such specialists are highly valued in Poland, so a cardiac surgeon who secures a position in a Polish clinic can expect a fairly high starting salary of around 9,700 PLN gross per month, additional pay for overtime work, bonuses, social guarantees, and full provision of everything necessary for work.
