The profession of an otolaryngologist is consistently in demand at all times and in all countries. Given the overall shortage of physicians, candidates from Ukraine and Belarus who wish to work abroad now have a wide range of opportunities to find employment as otolaryngologists in Poland. They can work in public or private outpatient clinics, general medical or specialized hospitals, and other healthcare institutions.
Searching for a vacancy, negotiating with an employer, and handling related matters can be done independently. However, it is far more practical to rely on the support of our team, which has solid experience in placing foreign physicians in Polish clinics.
What do otolaryngologists do?
This specialist’s scope of competence includes all pathologies related to the throat, nose, and ears — otitis, sinusitis, chronic rhinitis, tonsillitis, adenoiditis, and others.
Within professional practice, an otolaryngologist:
examines the patient and performs diagnostic assessments;
establishes a diagnosis;
chooses a treatment approach — conservative or surgical;
prescribes medications when conservative treatment is selected;
performs surgical interventions when required, such as adenoid removal, maxillary sinus punctures, abscess drainage;
carries out minor outpatient procedures — removes foreign bodies, stops nosebleeds, cleans earwax plugs, and similar;
monitors patients, controls treatment compliance, adjusts therapy when necessary, and provides preventive recommendations.
Today, working as an otolaryngologist in Poland requires a high level of professional skills and knowledge. The specialist must be able to conduct examinations using complex equipment and correctly interpret results, competently select hearing aids, effectively and appropriately apply cryotherapeutic treatment methods, and perform other advanced procedures.

Requirements for an otolaryngologist under Polish legislation
To be eligible to apply for a position as an otolaryngologist, a candidate must:
hold a higher medical education diploma and have a specialization confirmed by a certificate;
have at least 3 years of professional experience in the specialty within the last 5 years. At present, Ukrainian candidates may disregard this requirement, while it still applies to Belarusians;
learn “professional” Polish;
obtain authorization to practice medicine.
All candidates who meet these criteria are offered by the Polish healthcare system a competitive salary starting from 9,700 PLN gross per month, a regulated working day, additional pay for overtime and 24-hour on-call shifts, as well as bonuses that make the final salary even more attractive.
In addition, applicants for an otolaryngologist position in Poland can expect a solid social benefits package, broad career growth opportunities, and confidence in the future.
